Frequently Asked Questions

Does Attending Rush Mean I Have to Join?

Nope! Rush is non-binding and there is no obligation to join! This is a period of time for you to have fun and get to know more about our organization and our sisters!

Do I Have to be Asian to Join?

Definitely not! We are an Asian-interest sorority, not an Asian-exclusive sorority. aKDPhi promotes cultural awareness and we encourage anyone of any background to join!

Will I Be Hazed?

Absolutely not. Both UCSC and aKDPhi have a strict no-hazing policy. We would never intentionally harm a new member because that is not how we believe any of our future sisters should be treated. 

Will Being in A Sorority Affect my Grades?

Your grades and education come before anything else. Academic excellence is one of the five pillars of aKDPhi, and minimum GPA is required for all sisters.
